Correctional Facilities are challenging in that they
require an enormous amount of collaboration with the owner, architect,
general contractor and other trades.
Central Utah Correctional Facility
The Gunnison Prison addition added 192 bed’s to their existing
facility. Six cell blocks surround a central control center with an
upper mezzanine level. The outer walls of the facility are concrete
tilt up and the cells are double bunk steel.

High Deseret State Prison Phase IV & Phase V Addition
The phase IV construction of the High Deseret prison included a 208,000
square foot addition to the existing facility which added 1,344 new
beds. The construction consisted of concrete tilt up and pre fabricated
metal cells with wye chases for the electrical and mechanical systems.
The service consists of four 1,200 amp 480 volt switchboards fed from
four 12,470 volt delta to 480 volt wye 750 KVA transformers. At the
central plant a new 17.5 KW generator set was added to the existing
1,200 amp 12,470 volt paralleling gear.
