License: Master Electrician
Team Member Since: 1977
Work Achievements: Contracted $76.6M as of 2007
Bio: Geraldine Taylor who was the cornerstone of Taylor Electric in the early days found an article in the local paper about a young student who won the state VICA contest in electricity and cut it out and gave it to her son Jerry Taylor. Geraldine called and talked to his instructor and then Jerry called and spoke with him. Grant was working as a maintenance electrician at the University of Utah. Jerry convinced him to start out as an apprentice. He worked for a few months and then decided to do a brief stint at the University of Utah in the electrical engineering program. During school he worked for Taylor Electric on Saturdays. On one Saturday it was raining and Jerry didn’t have a dry place for him to work so he had him come into the shop and count some fixtures and outlets. He was so efficient at it that Jerry taught him how to roll off a job. Shortly thereafter Grant became a full time estimator. Since then the rest is as they say history. Grant is an accomplished design/build estimator and has numerous projects across the state of Utah to his credit.
Hobbies: Grant enjoys 4-wheeling and spending time at his cabin.
